A Message from the Pastor
On Becoming a Church Worthy of Bearing Christ's Name
I tell this story with the permission
of the one to whom it refers. One Sunday morning this person came
to worship at Mountain View Christian Church. He had not been with
a worshipping fellowship since he was a small child. His life had
so far been a series of disasters; moral, physical, legal, social,
marital and financial.
When he walked into the lobby he
felt he stuck out like a man with two heads. "They all know," he
thought. "They all know I'm so messed up. No one here looks
like they have any problems or ever did." Fortunately for
us, he stayed to join in worshipping God, the first time he'd done
so in almost twenty years.
