How do I become a member?

Or: "Whadd'ya mean I can't join this church?!?!?!?"

To be truthful, you don’t  join this church – at least not the way most churches think of it.  You see, we believe that if you, by faith, have given yourself to Jesus Christ as one of his followers, you have already joined God’s church.  You belong to the family of God that is serving him all over the world in various congregations.  If you have joined Jesus, then you don’t need to ‘join’ anything else.  We are one of the many local churches that makes up the whole church body worldwide.

At MVCC, we maintain a ‘Fellowship List.’  Unlike a membership roster, this list is just an informal list of those people who regularly attend Sunday services and participate in our various worship opportunities.  The Fellowship List is just a tool that we use for sending out information about church events or other information.   You can request to be put on this list by giving us your contact information and letting us know you want to consider MVCC as your church home.  We don’t require formal church membership transfers or any formal process for being a part of our community.

Being a part of MVCC is about:

• Belonging rather than joining
• A community rather than an institution
• Finding friends for the journey rather than putting you name on a list
• A fellowship rather than a club
• A family rather than a business
• People rather than programs
• Relationship rather than regulation
• Participation rather than spectators
