What are the benefits?
Mountain View Christian Preschool will provide your child with...
Social and Emotional Development
Your child will become aware of self and others, learn to work out problems in positive ways, and to interact with peers as well as adults. We will respect each child’s feelings, helping each learn appropriate outlets for emotions through dramatic play, stories, and active as well as quiet play. Children are encouraged to care for friends, family, and community.
Your child will learn language and vocabulary, basic readiness skills, number concepts, size and shape discrimination, color recognition, sequencing and spatial relationships. Games, directed projects and other learning tools will assist each child to learn at his/her own pace. Each classroom has areas for quiet time, where a child can relax, contemplate, or just be alone. In this school every child will feel confident and secure.
Large toys are used daily to promote gross motor development. Puzzles, scissors, and other small manipulative materials are used to build fine motor skills. Movement games allow each child to combine imagination and music with learning physical skills. Playground structures in a secure play area are utilized to enhance outdoor play.
We are a Christ-honoring institution, so we see faith in God as natural and essential to the development of a whole and balanced child. Faith lessons are simplified to a child’s level of comprehension. Virtues of love, honor, servant-hood, respect, and responsibility are core values of such faith. Prayer will be a part of each day.
A wide variety of experiences, materials and substances are offered to expand the child’s awareness of color, form, and texture. Music and movement contribute to learning about sound, order, rhythm and beauty. Creative exercises are integrated through out the curriculum with various opportunities for self-expression.
Our mission at Mountain View Christian Preschool is to work together with parents to nurture young children towards life-success in a safe-haven of encouragement, excellence and love.
When your child comes to school each day, he enters into the wondrous world of discovering, learning and growing!
Here, under the umbrella of safety, kindness, and nurture, children experience physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual growth. We believe young children learn best through various forms of play, and our developmentally appropriate program affords your child the opportunities to do just that.
Your child is a whole person, with all the glorious complexity of what it means to be human and alive. We believe that God has created each child as a unique individual, so our goal is to nurture your child’s self-confidence, her respect for others, and encourage her creativity at an individually appropriate pace.
A child’s instruction during the critical preschool years is fundamental to how they progress into older children and into adulthood. Introducing your child to an awareness of God, learning the basics of right and wrong, and the value of virtue is a key part of this development.
